Let’s start with a quick prostate recap.

The prostate is a walnut-shaped gland that is located just below the bladder and surrounds the urethra. The prostate secretes a fluid that nourishes and protects sperm. It also controls the flow of urine by the way the prostate wraps around the urethra.

The prostate continues growing throughout a man’s life. Half of all men over 50 develop an enlarged prostate and is an extremely common phenomenon. The medical term for enlarged prostate is Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH).

ENLARGED PROSTATE ALTERNATIVES

When the prostate is enlarged it presses on the urethra, which creates symptoms that include frequent urge to urinate, getting up at night to urinate, difficulty urinating, and dribbling of urine.

Unfortunately, most of the drugs (Proscar, Hytrin) available to keep the prostate cells from proliferating have numerous side effects, including decreased libido, erection difficulty, ejaculatory problems.

Dr. James Duke, Ph.D., a renowned American botanist stated that herbal remedies were superior to the drugs for treating BPH. Not only do they work better, but they are safer and cheaper.

He has created an herbal remedy that’s easy to make and can be used just like peanut butter.

“Dr. Duke’s Pronut butter”:

  • Place one-half cup of fresh pumpkin seeds in a blender (organic is best)
  • Open 1 saw-palmetto capsule and pour into blender
  • Add a few drops of licorice extract and blend until smooth
  • You can add a few drops of brazil nut oil to make it more spreadable

7 HERBAL SOLUTIONS FOR ENLARGED PROSTATE

1.  Licorice.
This herb contains a compound that may prevent the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a male hormone that plays a role in prostate growth and enlargement.

2. Pygeum Africanum Bark.
The compounds found in Pygeum have been known to provide support to the urinary tract and may inhibit the cell growth in the prostate.

3. Pumpkin Seeds.
Pumpkin seeds are an old remedy to treat urination problems and enlarged prostate symptoms.
They are rich in zinc several beneficial amino acids.

4. Red Clover.
Red clover is one of the richest sources of isoflavones which are believed to limit the development of BPH.

5. Saw Palmetto.
Saw Palmetto has been used for centuries in traditional medicine. It blocks the production of the hormone that causes the prostate to grow.

6. Stinging Nettle.
Stinging Nettles are very popular in Europe, in fact, nettle soup is one of my favorite delicacies. It may help to reduce symptoms of prostate problems by slowing down the growth of some of the cells. It is also fantastic for the urinary tract.

7. Swedish Flower Pollen.
Swedish Flower Pollen promotes healthy urine flow and helps maintain normal prostate cell function.
